BLACKPINK is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2016. The group consists of four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. They debuted on August 8, 2016 with the single album Square One, which included "Whistle" and "Boombayah" - the latter becoming the most-viewed K-pop debut music video on YouTube at the time.

Over the following years, BLACKPINK released a series of singles and EPs that expanded their international reach, including "DDU-DU DDU-DU," "Kill This Love," and "How You Like That," each breaking YouTube viewing records on release. Their debut studio album The Album (2020) became the best-selling album by a Korean girl group, and its follow-up Born Pink (2022) debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 - a first for a K-pop girl group. To date, the group has sold over 20 million records and surpassed 40 billion global streams.

BLACKPINK first performed at Coachella in 2019 as the first K-pop girl group to play the festival, and returned in 2023 as its first K-pop headliner. In February 2026 they became the first artist of any kind to reach 100 million subscribers on YouTube. All four members have also released solo material, making BLACKPINK one of the few groups where every member is an established solo artist in her own right.
